Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Corporation Municipal (BMC) Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury on Monday said that the containment zone restrictions from Sudarpada and Jadupur/Begunia have been withdrawn.
Five places – Surya Nagar, Bomikhal, Sudarpada, Jadupur-Begunia, Satya Nagar – in the Odisha capital were declared as ‘containment zone’ for contact tracing of COVID-19 positive cases and active surveillance.
“Four rounds of house-to-house survey were carried out at these two places. Those with travel history and COVID-19 symptoms were tested and on the bases of the results received, a decision to withdraw the restrictions was taken,” he said.
The commissioner, however, said that the house-to-house survey will continue in these areas for the next seven days, as a preventive measure.
