Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday released telephone numbers of control room at Home Department for the forthcoming 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, scheduled to begin from January 8 in Bhubaneswar.
The telephone numbers — 0674 2390411/0674 2390811 — will be functional from January 2 to 11.
President of Trinidad and Tobago Christine Carla Kangaloo will be the chief guest of the convention being organised at Janata Maidan here from January 8-10.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated once in every two years to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with the government and reconnect them with their cultural roots. The theme of this year convention is ‘Diaspora’s Contribution to a Viksit Bharat’.
It commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to India on January 9, 1915 and is being organised since 2003 to mark the contribution of the diaspora to the development of India.
