Sambalpur: With the southeast monsoon most likely to reach Odisha in the third week of June, the authorities of the Hirakud Dam on Saturday opened the 24-hour control room for the release of the water from the reservoir.
Informing the media, the dam authorities said that the 24-hour control room will monitor the time and the release of the water from the reservoir. In this context, all riverside districts have been informed in advance to take necessary steps and alert the people not to move along the river bed.
Stating that the floodwater from the dam will also be released at any time this year as was the case last year, the authorities said that the date and time for the release of water from the dam will be announced soon.
