New Delhi: If there is one trait that politicians across parties find difficult to shed, it’s the tendency to throw muck at fellow leaders. They often cross the line of decency and stoop to new lows.
Just like Subodh Kant Sahay did on Monday.
The senior Congress leader triggered a huge controversy by saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will die like Adolf Hitler, ANI reported.
“If Modi walks the path of Hitler, he will die like Hitler,” Sahay said while addressing Congress leaders and workers at the party’s ‘Satyagrah’ against Enforcement Directorate’s questioning of Rahul Gandhi and the Agnipath scheme.
German dictator Hitler committed suicide after being hunted down by Soviet troops which stormed Berlin in 1945 during the second World War.
This is the second time in less than a week that a Congressman has made inappropriate remarks against the PM. Maharashtra Congress member Sheikh Hussain had wished the PM a “dog’s death”, following which an FIR was registered against him under Sections 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) of IPC.
BJP blasted the Congress leadership for not condemning unparliamentary language used by its leaders against the PM.
Shehzad Poonawalla, spokesperson of the saffron party, said Sonia and Rahul Gandhi will not rein in their leaders as they are the ones who have given the green signal to make such derogatory comments.
