Cooking Barred In Biswanathpur After Gas Leakage From LPG tanker

Bhawanipatna: Cooking has been barred by the authorities concerned in Biswanathpur area of Kalahandi district to prevent fire mishap due to gas leakage from an LPG tanker.

“The gas leak has not yet been plugged due to unavailability of necessary equipment with us. However, an expert team from Visakhapatnam, from where the vehicle was coming, have been asked to reach the spot and bring the situation under control”, an official from the local fire department said.

The tanker overturned on National Highway-6 at Pokharibandha at around 5 am when the driver of the vehicle lost control over its wheels while negotiating a sharp turn.

As gas started leaking from the vehicle, fire personnel and police blocked the road connecting Bhawanipatna and Rayagada to prevent fire from the vehicle.
