Sambalpur: The Vigilance officers on Tuesday caught a senior official of cooperative societies on bribery charges.
The Sub-Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Subarnapur, Ashish Kumar Rout, was caught red-handed by the Vigilance officers while demanding and accepting Rs 17,000 from one Manjaya Dharua of Dunguripali in Subarnapur district.
He had allegedly demanded the bribe to process paddy procurement bill in favour of Manjaya, the complainant. Further details are awaited.
