Puri: Two policemen of Puri district have been taken to task for gross dereliction of duty.
According to Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh, Sub-Inspector of Sadar police station Atasi Jena had raided a gambling den in September last year. But, as she had not informed the IIC about the raid and the amount of cash seized, she has been suspended on Sunday as a disciplinary proceeding.
Apart from this, a complaint was lodged against the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Krushna Prasad police station Ishwar Chandra Guman Singh for taking a bribe of Rs 7,000 from a food vendor.
Acting on the complaint, Sadar SDPO had investigated the case and found the ASI guilty. On the basis of the report, he has been arrested, the SP added.
