Cop Held For Raping Teacher In Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: A policeman was arrested on Thursday in Mohana area of Odisha’s Ganjam district on charges of raping the headmistress of a residential school located in Gajapati district.

Police got the accused and the victim medically examined.

The accused was identified as Bhubananada Nayak, a policeman (3rd Battalion, SSBN) of Kaliapatua under Mohana police limits.

According the complaint lodged with police, Bhubananda had established physical relationship with a 37-year old headmistress who is staying in Berhampur area along with her two children after separating from her husband.

 

The policeman was accused of having the relationship with the teacher on the promise of marriage since 2010.

Besides, the cop had got her pregnancy terminated thrice and taken Rs 12 lakh from her in different times.

However, the victim came to know that the accused had later married a woman. Protesting the marriage, the victim filed a complaint against the cop.
