Cuttack: A police officer has been placed under suspension for reportedly seeking protection for on-duty policemen in Odisha.
Notably, Odisha Police Officers’ Association president Satyajit Mishra held a press briefing recently and sought adequate protection for policemen in the wake of the attack on Baliapal police station IIC Prabhu Kalyan Acharya at Uluda village in Balasore district on July 26. Locals had attacked the cop after a minor boy was found hanging in a roadside dhaba (food joint).
As is the case with doctors, policemen should also be provided protection, he demanded.
