Bhubaneswar: A police inspector sustained critical bullet injuries in head and neck in an alleged accidental firing at the SP office in Odisha’s Koraput district on Wednesday.
The victim has been identified as deputy subedar Narendra Biswal
According to sources, the incident took place around 11.30 am. Biswal, who suffered grievous injuries on the left side of his face, was immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital. As his condition deteriorated, an ambulance was arranged and he was shifted to Visakhapatnam.
Police are yet to confirm whether it was an accident or an attempt by the victim to end his life.
