Cops Arrest Actor Leena Maria Paul In ₹ 200 Crore Extortion Case

New Delhi: Actor Leena Maria Paul was arrested by the Delhi Police’s Economic Offences Wing as she allegedly helped her boyfriend Sukesh Chandrasekhar in ₹ 200 crore extortion from a businessman’s wife. Sukesh is accused in as many as 21 cases.

The police have charged Sukesh with the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime (MCOCA) Act, a senior police officer said, adding that further probe into the matter is underway.

According to the officer, Paul allegedly assisted Sukesh in duping former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh’s wife Aditi Singh.

Aditi Singh informed the police and an FIR was registered on August 7. The FIR stated that a man posing as a senior Law Ministry official in June last year had offered to assist her in securing bail for her husband, who was in jail at that time, in lieu of money.

Cops arrested Shivinder Singh in a money laundering case related to the alleged embezzlement of funds at Religare Finvest Ltd (RFL) back in 2019.

Police said that Sukesh has been accused in 21 cases, including the Election Commission bribery case, had called Aditi Singh and that followed his arrest in August.
