Cops Beaten Up For Stopping Couple Riding Without Helmet

Balasore: A couple allegedly assaulted two cops at Anji Bazaar under Soro police limits in Balasore district on Sunday night after being stopped for riding without helmet.

The incident took place when ASI of Saud police outpost Sarat Chandra Dhal and constable Gangadhar Behera were checking helmets of motorists. During the drive, Kasiruddin Shah was stopped by the cops for not wearing helmet.

A verbal duel ensued after the police officers asked him to pay fine. Following which, Shah and his wife slapped the cops and started beating them up in full public glare.

Based on a complaint lodged in this regard, Soro police and Khantapada police have started investigation.
