Berhampur: Police on Tuesday foiled a dacoity attempt with the arrest of five persons at Berhampur in Ganjam district.
According to reports, cops carried out raids at Berhampur basing on specific information that the five were plotting a robbery in the locality and managed to nab them.
A motorcycle and several arms and weapons were seized from their possesion.
On Monday, Berhampur police had carried out raid on a house and arrested eight persons on charges of gambling. Cash to the tune of Rs 6 lakh and eight cell phones were recovered from them.
