Cops Rob Bizman Of Rs 1.5L At Toll Gate In Cuttack

Cuttack: Tangi police on Friday detained three persons for allegedly looting Rs 1.5 lakh from a businessman near Nirgundi Toll Gate here the previous night.

The irony was that all the three detained are policemen. They have been identified as Home Guards Santosh Mallik and Braja Kishore Pradhan and constable Jogendra Pani.

According to reports, the trio disguised as officials of Commissionerate Police intercepted a car, heading toward Puri from Kolkata, for frisking near the toll gate late in the night. They then decamped with the cash from the vehicle.

The Tangi police detained the accused for interrogation on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim.

Choudwar SDPO and Cuttack SP (Rural) also visited the Tangi police station for an inquiry into the incident.
