Grupo Modelo, a large brewery in Mexico, is temporarily stopping the production of Corona beer and other brands as its business activities have been declared non-essential in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic which is wreaking havoc all over the world.
Corona beer is exported to 180 countries.
The Mexican government declared a health emergency on Monday and ordered the suspension of non-essential activities after a surge in positive coronavirus cases. There have been 50 deaths so far in Mexico out of 1,510 reported cases of coronavirus so far.
