Corona Crisis: No Cuts In Pension, Says Govt

New Delhi: Pensioners can breathe easy. The Central Government on Sunday clarified that there is no proposal for reduction/stoppage of pension in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing economic scenario.

The clarification by the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension came to dispel rumours that the government was contemplating reduction of pension during the current crisis.

“It is being reiterated that there is no such proposal for reduction of pension and no action is contemplated in this respect. Instead, the government is committed for the welfare and well-being of the pensioners,” the ministry said in release.
