Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday deputed three young IAS Officers – P Anvesha Reddy, Patil Ashish Ishwar and Hema Kanta Say – to Ganjam district for a period of one month to assist the district administration in COVID-19 management.
They are all Odisha cadre officers of 2017 batch.
The district has witnesses a sudden spike in corona positive cases with the return of migrants from Surat. The affected tally rose to 71 on Friday with 24 more persons testing positive for the virus.
As many as 25 Surat returnees and another person, who had returned from Kerala, were found to have contracted the infection on Thursday.

According to official sources, around 3 lakh migrants have registered to return to Ganjam. There could be thousands of unregistered migrants who might be on their way back.
On Monday, the government had deputed five OAS officers to assist the district administration to handle the problems arising out of return of natives from other states.
Meanwhile, the Ganjam administration has imposed prohibitory order around all quarantine centres of the district.
