Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police has deputed four young Deputy SPs and four additional platoons of force in Ganjam district where COVID-19 cases have crossed 2000 mark.
Informing about deputation of the Deputy SPs, DGP Abhay on Saturday said all the police personnel have reported for duty.
Earlier on the day, the state government had appointed two IAS officers as Special ADMs in charge of Chatrapur and Bhanjanagar sub-divisions of the district in view of the growing COVID-19 cases.
The government had also deputed six senior OAS officers to the district to work under the administration.
The district reported 499 corona positive cases on Saturday taking its tally to 2,066, the highest in the state so far.
