Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Samaj of UAE has requested the Consul General of India in Dubai for repatriation of Odias on special flight each from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Bhubaneswar.
In an appeal to the Consul General, the Samaj stated that many Odias in both the places have registered themselves in the Government of India expressing their willingness to return to Odisha. Though Air India has made arrangement to take the Indian repatriates, the flights are scheduled for Kerala, Delhi and other major places in India.
Since travelling from one part of India to another has been restricted due to lockdown, it will be difficult for the Odias to go to their home states from these places.
Considering the problems to be faced by the Odia repatriates, the Samaj requested the Consul General to discuss with the Civil Aviation Ministry of India to arrange a direct flight to Bhubaneswar from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
