Bhubaneswar: A special flight carrying 179 passengers from Dubai will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in the Odisha capital on May 14.
Though the Union Civil Aviation Ministry is yet to come up with a confirmation in this regard, the news portal Khaleej Times, Dubai, said that the special flight has been arranged by the non-resident Indians (NRIs) and the Odisha Samaj of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The report further said that the Indian High Commission had confirmed the departure of the special flight from Dubai for which the Odisha Samaj has expressed its gratitude to the Odisha government and the Centre.
On May 9, The Odisha Samaj of UAE had requested the Consul General of India in Dubai for repatriation of Odias on special flight each from Dubai and Abu Dhabi to Bhubaneswar.

Notably, the Centre has begun the process to bring back the NRIs under the Vande Bharat Mission from May 15.
