Jajpur: The district administration on Tuesday suspended bus services to Kolkata and Rourkela in view of rapid spreading of COVID-19 pandemic.
In an order, district collector Ranjan Kumar Das said the plying of buses from the district to Kolkata and Rourkela is suspended with immediate effect until further order. The restriction is also applicable to the buses coming the two outside places.
The district reported the highest single-day spike of 97 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the total number of positive cases to 896.
The new cases included an under-trial prisoner of Jajpur sub-jail who was lodged with 11 other inmates in a cell.
