Angul: The district administration on Sunday imposed a new set of restrictions on the employees of different industries to contain the spread of coronavirus.
In an official order, district collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty said some employees of the industries have tested positive for coronavirus. As a preventive measure, the employees and their families staying on the premises of the industries are not allowed to come out of the plant area except in case of emergency till July-end, he added.
The plant management will accommodate the employees engaged in essential operations of the factory within the plant area, the order stated.
The employees going from outside to the plants will be minimal and at the time of entry and exit, their thermal scanning will be mandatory. The employees having COVID-19 symptoms are strictly prohibited from entering the plant premises.
Besides, the employees staying outside the premises will work separately from those living on the campus. There should be separate entry and exit provisions for outsiders, the collector said.
The order further said social distancing and using masks are mandatory inside the plant boundaries.
Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tally in the district went up to 106 on Sunday with 11 more positive cases reported in the last 24 hours.
