New Delhi: The country’s COVID-19 tally crossed 90,000-mark on Saturday with the biggest single-day spike of 4,987 new cases, the health ministry said on Saturday.
Maharashtra continued to be the worst affected state, reporting a surge of 1,606 infections on Saturday. The total cases in the state are now at 30,706.
Gujarat also witnessed 1,057 cases in the last 24 hours taking its total tally at 10,988 followed by Tamil Nadu (10,585), Delhi (9,333), Rajasthan (4,960), Madhya Pradesh (4,789), the ministry reported.
Meanwhile, the Centre will be issuing the guidelines for Lockdown 4.0 on Sunday.
So far, 2,872 patients have died due to the disease and 34,108 people have recovered, keeping the recovery rate over 35 per cent.
