New Delhi: The coronavirus tally in India has touched 1,82,143 with 8,380 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours, as per the data available on the Health Ministry’s website till 8 am on Sunday.
Amid the continuous spike, the number of recoveries for the first time surpassed the fresh cases reported. As against 8,380 new cases, 11,264 patients recovered from the disease on a single day.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients stands at 47.40 per cent with the total touching 86,983, the ministry reported.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra, the worst-affected state from the coronavirus outbreak, has so far reported 65,168 total cases, followed by Tamil Nadu (21,184), Delhi (18,549) and Gujarat (16,343), it added.
