Bhubaneswar: Amid the novel coronavirus scare, Gajapati Maharaja of Puri Dibyasingha Deb has set an example for all. He had himself registered on the COVID-19 portal (https://covid19.odisha.gov.in) of the Odisha government after returning from the US on March 15.
He and his family members have since been in home quarantine at their Bhubaneswar residence in accordance with the health guidelines, which recommends isolation for 14 days. They are in good heath, sources said.
The Gajapati Maharaja along with his family members had been to the US to attend several programmes in the Jagannath temples in various cities of USA.
In the interest of public health and to prevent spread of coronavirus, the Gajapati Maharaja has appealed to all persons who have arrived in Odisha on or after March 4 from abroad to immediately register themselves in the government COVID-19 registration portal. He also advised them to remain in home isolation for at least 14 days while taking all precautions as advised by the the government, said the office of the Gajapati in a release here.
