Beijing: Cartons of ice cream made in eastern China were withdrawn from the market after coronavirus was found on it.
The Daqiaodao Food Co. Ltd in Tianjin was sealed following the detection. Employees were tested for the virus, a city government statement said.
There was no report of anyone contracting the disease from the ice cream, AP said.
According to the government, the 390 cartons which had been sold out of 29,000 in the batch were being tracked down.
Ingredients in the ice cream included milk powder from New Zealand and whey powder from Ukraine.
Coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan in late 2019, but the Chinese government has often said that it came from abroad. They have pointed to the coronavirus being found in imported fish and other food.
Experts from rest of the world have not been convinced of the Chinese theory.
