Kendrapara: The Bhitarkanika National Park in Kendrapara district will remain out of bounds for tourists for the next 15 days, till March 31, in view of the novel coronavirus outbreak.
The Environment and Forests Department has imposed the ban from Tuesday to check the spread of COVID-19. “No tourists will be allowed during this time,” Bhitarkanika Range Officer Sushree Swati Mohanty said.
The Odisha government had earlier banned entry to major tourist destinations in the state to check mass congregation of people. Nandankanan Zoological Park has been closed since last two days.
