Paradip: The authorities of the Port Hospital here on Tuesday referred a couple from Uttar Pradesh to undergo coronavirus test at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
The hospital’s chief medical officer, Dr Prahllad Panda, said a cargo ship with 23 crew members, including the couple, had set sail from China on February 15 and arrived at Paradip Port on March 1 via Hong Kong and Singapore.
“After the ship’s arrival, the crew informed the port authorities about an ill man on board. Following information, a team of doctors went to the ship today to check the condition of the patient and found him suffering from mild fever. As the ship had come from China, we referred the patient and his wife to SCB to undergo a test,” Panda said.
He further said that the doctors have checked the health of other crews and asked them not to come out of the ship.
