Puri: As a precautionary measure against the deadly coronavirus which has claimed 717 lives in China, the Odisha government has opened an isolation ward at the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Puri.
As informed by the district administration, the authorities of the district headquarters hospital have opened an eight-bed isolation ward in the hospital to provide immediate treatment of suspected coronavirus patients.
Taking into consideration that several foreign tourists flock to Puri every day, the hospital authorities have been instructed to collect the samples of foreign tourists coming from China and its neighbourhood and send them to the National Institute of Virology in Pune for confirmation.
