Coronavirus Scare: Odisha Health Dept Issues Dos & Don’ts For Holi Celebrations

Bhubaneswar: As COVID-19 cases in India touched 40, Health and Family Welfare Department Principal Secretary Nikunja Bihari Dhal on Sunday issued an advisory, comprising the dos and don’ts for Holi.

He said that there was no need to panic and people should celebrate the festival of colours responsibly.

The ADVISORY

  • Don’t hug or shake hands
  • Don’t put colours on people’s face
  • Avoid crowded space or huge public gatherings as the chances of getting an infection rises astronomically

Earlier, Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had announced to skip Holi celebration and not participate in any mass gathering in view of the coronavirus scare.

However, not a single positive case has so far been detected in Odisha.
