Bhubaneswar: Even as Coronavirus (COVID-190 cases spiked to 28 in India, the Odisha government on Wednesday made it clear that there was no proposal to close down schools in the state.
Briefing mediapersons here, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash denied any such possibility since the Health and Family Welfare Department had confirmed that there were no coronavirus positive cases in Odisha.
Prior to the health guidelines issued by the Centre, he said that the state government had issued guidelines to all schools. “Instructions have been given to all the teachers to take care of the children, suffering from mild fever with prolonged cough and cold,” he pointed out.
Stating that the annual school examination is scheduled to begin in the state from March 18, the minister said the schools will function as usual.
