Cuttack: A man died while his wife sustained critical injuries after being attacked by unidentified assailants at Kulia Bazaar in Salepur area of Odisha’s Cuttack late on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Hara Krishna. His injured wife, Annapurna, has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack city for treatment.
According to sources, the couple owned a tiffin stall at the market and was allegedly attacked by miscreants while they were sleeping there. Police have launched a probe and a scientific team has also been pressed into action for clues to nab the assailants.
Last month, a 58-year-old businessman was found floating in Janhia-Ramakrushnapur irrigation canal at Balasahi in the area.
