Puri: A young couple allegedly consumed poison in an apparent bid to end life in Odisha’s Puri on Tuesday.
According to sources, the incident took place inside a private hotel on City Road.
The hotel authorities spotted the couple and rescued them in a critical condition. They immediately admitted the two to the district headquarter hospital (DHH).
Later the man was shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack as his health condition deteriorated.
The identity of the couple and the cause behind the step taken by the duo are yet to be ascertained.
On being informed, the Sea Beach police arrived at the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. Further detailsl are awaited.
