Couple Booked For Violating ‘Corona’ Home Quarantine Norms In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday lodged a complaint against a couple of Sailashree Vihar in Odisha capital for allegedly violating the house quarantine norms, which is mandatory for those returning to the state from abroad.

Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo confirmed that a case has been lodged against them at the Chandrasekhar police station under Sections 188, 269, 270 and 271 of the IPC, on the basis of BMC’s Deputy Commissioner, North Zone, Promod Prusty’s report.

The matter came to light when Prusty along with BMC staff and Chandrasekharpur police were verifying about denizens who had recently returned from abroad. The team found that the couple had come out of the house violating the rules of quarantine.

They have been shifted to the isolation ward of the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, the DCP added.
