Baripada: A couple was critically injured when a vehicle, belonging to a BJP MLA allegedly rammed into their moped, near Titia Chhak on Udala-Baripada road in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday evening.
The couple, who are residents of Khunta village, have been admitted to PRM Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
According to sources, the accident took place when the couple was returning home from the weekly village market. The speeding SUV, reportedly linked to BJP MLA from Saraskana Bhadav Hansdah, dashed against the two-wheeler and dragged it for several metres. The vehicle eventually came to a halt after crashing into a roadside tree.
