Couple Die, 3 Critical As Car Rams Truck In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: A couple died and 3 others sustained critical injuries after the car in which they were travelling rammed a truck on NH-16 near Panikoili Chhak in Odisha’s Jajpur district late on Wednesday.

The deceased have been identified as Vinod Jena and his wife Sumitra Jena of Soro in Balasore district.

According to sources, the accident took place near Sharma Petrol pump when they were en route to Balasore from Cuttack. It is being suspected that the person behind the wheels lost control over the vehicle leading to the crash. All five were rescued by locals and Fire Service personnel and admitted to districts headquarters hospital, where doctors declared the couple dead. The other three were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for further treatment.
