Balangir: The bodies of a married couple were found under mysterious circumstances on the outskirts of a village in Agalpur area of Odisha’s Balangir district on Monday.
According to reports, the bodies were recovered from Kudapali village under the jurisdiction of Agalpur police station in the district in the morning.
The deceased have been identified as Khirod Bariha and his wife Tarini Bariha.
Locals spotted the bodies in the morning. While Khirod was found hanging from a tree on the outskirts of the village, Tarini’s body was lying on the ground. A bucket was also found near their bodies.
After receiving information, a police team from Agalpur visited the site and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The police launched an investigation into the incident, while a scientific team was also sent to examine the site.
The reason behind the death of the couple is yet to be ascertained. Investigation is underway and further details are awaited.
