Bhubaneswar: A couple was found hanging inside house in Housing Board Colony area under Chandrasekharpur police station limits in Bhubaneswar early on Saturday.
The deceased man has been identified as Kumar Jiten (30), a driver by profession. The woman, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, is said to be his second wife
.
A neighbour told the media that there was a heated argument between Jiten and the woman on Friday afternoon, which could have led to the tragic incident. The couple had left the door to their room open before allegedly hanging themselves, according to sources.
Owner of the travel agency for which Jiten worked said that he was staying in the house as a caretaker and the woman had moved in with him about two months ago. “Jiten is married and has three children. I had warned him against having an affair when he has a family back home. While the woman claimed that she was his wife, Jiten had told me that he would soon get out of this relationship. About three day ago, he told a customer that he was leaving for his village and did not pick my calls thereafter,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chandrasekharpur police have begun an investigation. “Details in the case will be known only after the arrival of the deceased’s family members,” a police officer said.
