Khurda: A couple was found hanging in a rented accommodation at Samantarapur under Town police limits in Khurda district on Sunday night.
They were identified as Soumyakant Patnaik and Suchismita Patnaik, both natives of Pathuripada in Banki of Cuttack district.
“Soumyakant was staying with his wife and eight-year-old daughter in the house. He was working in a company,Thiruvalla Petrochemicals in Khurda. However, he was under mental stress as the company had not been paying him salary since a long time,” brother of the deceased, Biswajit informed.
He further alleged that Soumyakant took the extreme step after he was recently called to the local police station over some disputes with the company regarding release of compensation for an accident, involving him on the company premises.
