Couple Hacked To Death Over Suspicion Of Practising Witchcraft In Odisha’s Gajapati

Gajapati: Unidentified miscreants allegedly brutally murdered a married couple at Ghodapanka village under Mohana Adava police limits in Odisha’s Gajapati district on the suspicion of practising black magic on Monday evening.

The victims have been identified as Kapilendra Malik and his wife Sasita.

According to sources, the miscreants barged into Kapilendra’s house and attacked with deadly weapons around 8 pm. They then waylaid his wife, who was returning home on being informed about the incident, and chased her down the village. She was later found by villagers in a pool of blood.

On being informed, police reached the village and seized the bodies. Some villagers are being questioned in connection with the incident.

The sources attributed the incident to past enmity. In February, Kapilendra had survived a fatal attack after he being shot at while riding a bike.
