Angul: A couple was killed after the car in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside tree near Cheliapada Chhakk, on the outskirts of the town, on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased duo has been identified as Siba Panda and his wife Pramila, residents of Burla.
According to police sources, the couple was travelling to Angul from Bhubaneswar when Shiba lost control over the car. The vehicle then skidded off the road and crashed into a roadside tree. While Pramila died on the spot, Shiba succumbed to his injuries at Angul district headquarters hospital.
On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the mangled vehicle.
