Keonjhar: A couple died in an accident at Asrala village under Jhumpura police limits along National Highway 20 in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
According to reports, the two were going on a motorcycle when the speeding truck hit the two-wheeler from behind. The two reportedly died on the spot.
Witnesses said the truck driver was in an inebriated state and driving at high speed when the accident occurred.
The deceased have been identified as Tapas Giri and Kumudini Giri.
The Giris are residents of Ketangi village under Ghatagaon polie limits, said police.
Police nabbed the driver from an area near Balibandh.
