Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a couple was killed and their three-year-old son was critically injured after a truck rammed into their bike in Odisha’s Sundaragada district on Friday.
According to preliminary information, the mishap occurred in Bandhabahal area of the district in the afternoon when the couple and the child were travelling on a bike.
A speeding truck reportedly hit the bike near Bardihi Square. The man and his wife reportedly died on the spot while their son sustained critical injuries in the mishap.
Local residents rescued the injured child and rushed him to a nearby hospital. He was later shifted to a hospital at Sundaragada after his condition deteriorated.
After receiving information, a police team from Kinjirkela reached the spot and seized the two vehicles before launching a probe into the incident.
