Jajpur: A couple was injured after being attacked by unidentified miscreants at Tilpada under Bairi police station limits in Jajpur district on Monday evening.
According to sources, one Kabi hailing from Sribantapur was returning home along with his wife when two motorcycle-borne miscreants intercepted them in an attempt to rob them.
The assailants opened fire at them and decamped with a gold chain from Kabi and jewellery from his wife.
Kabi sustained bullet injuries on his chest. He was rescued by locals and admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.
