Court allows MP Hansdah to cast vote in VP poll

Bhubaneswar: Under-trial Mayurbhanj MP Rama Chandra Hansdah left for New Delhi on Saturday morning after the CBI court here granted him permission to cast his vote in the Vice Presidential (VP) election.
The voting in Parliament began around 10 am and will go on till 5 in the evening.
Hansda is currently lodged in Jharpada Special Jail for this alleged links in Nabadiganta chit fund scam. The court had earlier denied him bail to exercise his franchise in the Presidential election held on July 17.
The MP was the founder director of Nabadiganta Capital Services and the CBI had recovered large amount of unaccountable money from his house. He was suspended from the BJD following his arrest in November 2014.
