New Delhi: The Rouse Avenue court on Friday reserved its order on a fresh application made by Delhi chief minster Arvind Kejriwal seeking direction to Tihar jail authorities to administer insulin and allow him consult his doctor through video conferencing daily for 15 minutes.
The court will pronounce its order on Monday.
Kejriwal’s plea stated that his ‘Insulin Reversal Programme’ was started on February 1, and with daily medical and dietary interventions and tailor-made daily exercise intervention, he was successfully removed from exogenous insulin and switched to oral medication. But due to his arrest on March 21, the applicant was incapacitated and unable to follow the programme.
The petition further said it’s shocking and alarming that from the date of his arrest i.e. March 21, the applicant has not been administered insulin to control his sugar levels. He has neither been able to follow the Insulin Reversal Programme nor administered insulin to control his blood sugar levels, The Times of India reported.
The chart detailing food provided to him by Tihar Jail, via Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) counsel, failed to reflect the numerous occasions when he didn’t consume the food offered, Kejriwal pointed out.
The Delhi CM also pleaded that his wife Sunita Kejriwal be allowed to join the video conference consultation with his doctor, Ravichandra Rao.
