Balasore: A local court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his infant son in Odisha’s Balasore district.
As per the case, Dula Ram Baske had married to Gouri a few years back. They had a son after the marriage against the will of Dula Ram.
A few days after the birth of their son, Dula Ram took their house out of the house and killed him. Following this, Gouri filed a complaint against her husband at Khair police station on January 19, 2023, alleging that he had murdered their son.
Following investigation, police arrested Dula Ram and forwarded him to court.
After examining 12 witnesses and examining 15 documents, Judge Biswajit Das of OPID Court in Balasore convicted Dula Ram and sentenced him to life term. The court also imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on Dula Ram. If the convict fails to pay the penalty, the court ordered him imprisonment for two more months.
