New Delhi: India reported 44,059 new COVID-19 cases on Monday which took the country’s tally to 91,39,866.
The toll surged to 1,33,738 after 511 people succumbed to the deadly infection in the last 24 hours.
Going by the Union Health Ministry data, there are currently 4,43,486 active cases across the country, while 85,62,641 patients have been discharged.
ICMR estimates said that a total of 13,25,82,730 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till November 22. Of these, 8,49,596 samples were tested on Sunday, reported news agency ANI
.On a positive note, the number of new daily cases has been falling in the country since mid-September, when it reached a peak of over 90,000 cases a day.
Over 57.5 million coronavirus cases have been recorded globally so far, with more than 13,71,000 deaths.
