New Delhi: India reported 58,077 fresh COVID-19 infections that took the case tally to 4,25,36,137 in the last 24 hours on Friday. The active caseload has declined to 6,97,802, according to the data released by the Union health ministry on Friday.
For the last five days, the daily COVID-19 cases are being recorded at less than one lakh.
With 657 fatalities, the number of deaths climbed to 5,07,177, according to data updated at 8 am.
The active cases are 1.64 per cent of the total infections. The national recovery rate has witnessed further improvement to 97.17 per cent, said the health ministry.
According to the health ministry, the daily positivity rate has been recorded at 3.89 per cent while weekly positivity rate has is 5.76 per cent.
