Bhubaneswar: Making a fast climb, the daily COVID-19 positive cases in the city went up from 476 to 745 in 4 days with active cases nearing 5,000.
The city, which reported 476 positive cases on Wednesday, 590 on Thursday, and 698 on Friday, registered 745 cases on Saturday.
Of the day’s cases, 598 were local contacts and the rest 147 from quarantine centres. As many as 399 patients recovered from the disease.
Of the local contacts, highest 45 cases were from Patia, followed by 33 from Old Town, 31 from Khandagiri and 30 from Nayapalli.
The active cases have gone up to 4763, while total cases have touched 39,237 in the city.
